I used to work from home a lot before we got our first office, so I thought going back to a home office life during the COVID-19 lockdown would be easy.
To be honest, I struggled.
For the first three weeks of lockdown each day seemed to go by without much efficiency or achievement – at least it felt like that.
I’d end the day frustrated.
With a list of tasks getting longer and the week quickly coming to an end, I needed to address one major thing.
My old daily routine was no longer a routine I could use.
Each day would consist of work and family competing for my time and attention and neither really got the best out of me.
Fast forward 3 weeks, after watching a useful YouTube vid, I sorted out a new lockdown daily routine.
My days now have a clear start, set blocks of time for set types of tasks and I even have a dedicated daddy day with the little one.
Why the coffee?
Every morning my routine kicks-off with me pretending to be a barista.
The repetitive process and creativity, but mostly the caffeine, help get my day going.
I’ve actually gotten better thanks to the consistent practice.
Any tips or tricks that have helped?
